Room 111 Promo Video

In my Advanced Advertising Arts course, I was given one week to put together a video that would be shown to students at my district’s junior high schools to promote the series of courses offered in Room 111, one of the art rooms in Ward Melville HS. I used footage from a promotional video I put together for the Advertising Arts course, footage I was able to get from a former Yearbook student, and new footage filmed by myself and my friend Andrew Visconti. Graphics were created by Justin Suazo. The music is by El Ten Eleven and was used with permission.

This is one of the first wedding highlight videos that I’ve done for I-Do Video, a wedding and party videographer. I received the footage and edited a highlight montage set to their wedding song (Phish’s Wading in a Velvet Sea) for the client’s DVD.

As an employee in Best Buy’s Digital Imaging section one of the most frequent questions I get asked from customers is “What’s the difference between a 3x and a 4x optical zoom?” or something to that effect. I thought the best way to portray this would be a series of pictures. So one day, on a slow day, I asked my supervisor if I could take a camera and tripod to the back of the parking lot and aim it at the storefront. With his blessing I created a photo display of a series of eight pictures, each numbered with the amount of optical zoom used.

I edited the pictures on Photoshop and we used a television to also set up a slideshow of the pictures. This was one of the better days I had at work, not just because I got to go outside, but because I helped make a lasting impression and improvement on Best Buy’s Digital Imaging section.

I produced this how-to video about getting granite off of a countertop for Howcast.com. They provided me with the animations and voiceovers and I shot the video.
